Below you will find frequently asked questions regarding the WNYS Bowling Camp
  • What is the age cutoff for the junior camp?

  • The ages for the camp are 10-22


  • What is the cost for the camp?

  • $129.00 covers the two-day camp,which includes lunch both days, on lane and classroom instruction, take home materials, end of camp report card and completion certificate.


  • When is the camp taking place?

  • The dates for the 2008 W.N.Y.S. Junior Bowling Camp are July 19th - 20th.


  • Where is the camp taking place?

  • TBD.


  • What coach will I be placed with?

  • All of the coaches are prepared to work with all of the kids, no matter what their skill level. It’s no secret that the PBA staff members are the most sought after, and they do work their way through the camp, but the PBA staff members are primarily used with the 170 and above average bowlers.


  • Will there be any female coaches?

  • Yes, there will be Hall of Famer Cindy Coburn-Carroll, and recently added Team USA member Shannon O’Keefe.


  • What is the doubles tournament about?

  • A bowler with an average of 169 or below will be randomly paired with a bowler with an average of 170 or greater. They will then bowl another team in a single elimination baker style format game with the winner advancing and the loser getting back to the lanes to work with the coaches again.


  • How do I sign up?

  • You can sign up online at the registration page or you can send your bio info to: Mike Westfield, 260 Claudette ct., Depew, NY 14043 Bio info would include the bowlers name, full address, school, birth date, and average.


  • What skill level is the camp for?

  • All skill levels from beginner to advanced junior. From middle school to collegiate. The coaching staff is set up to work with all levels of junior bowlers.


  • Name some past campers who have benefited from the camp?

  • Collegiate All-Americans Ryan Ciminelli and Cody Westfield, Teen Masters champion john Sczerbinski, Teen Masters two-time semi-finalist Erik Westfield, recent 900 series bowler Robert Mushtare, Rochester area phenoms and YBT standouts Jon Buckert, Sarah Germano, Nick and Michelle Secours and Michigan state champion Rick Brandywine.
